In a school system where much of students' time is spent chasing marks and meeting expectations, it is rare for them to be given the opportunity to simply explore. That is what our Cloud Computing and UX/UI programs are designed to offer.
In the Academic Year 2024/5, over 900 students enrolled in our advanced digital programs lasting between 72 to 90 hours in a hands-on, exploratory learning environment that built their confidence and digital skills. Learning at SEED goes far beyond the classroom. We arranged 45 interactive, tech-focused field trips in intimate group settings, allowing students to engage directly with real-world digital applications. In addition, 62 students participated in our Workplace Experience Program (WXP), gaining hands-on exposure to the professional world of tech and design.
Last week, we celebrated the graduation of our Cloud Computing and UX/UI cohorts who completed their studies during the 2024/25 academic year, as well as those who stepped out of their comfort zones to gain real-world experience by completing the month-long, full-time Workplace Experience Program. Many of these students joined the program with little to no background in technology. What brought them together was not prior experience, but a shared willingness to explore, to learn and to grow.
We were honored to have our founding sponsor Cindy Chow, Executive Director and CEO of the Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund, and our honorary advisor, Fanny Law Fan Chiu-fun GBM GBS JP, to deliver powerful and inspiring encouragements to our graduates. To conclude the celebration, we hosted an interactive quiz game, which brought energy and excitement to the room. It was a joy to witness our students confidently demonstrate what they had learned throughout the program.
One Cloud Computing graduate captured it well during the ceremony:
“Joining the SEED program really changed me. I used to hesitate a lot, but now I’m braver and more willing to make decisions. During the WXP journey, I learned how to speak up and share my ideas with others, something I never thought I could do before.”
That is exactly what this journey is about. Not just learning tools and techniques, but discovering your voice. Not just finishing a program, but becoming someone who believes in themselves and their ideas.
We are incredibly proud of this graduating class and deeply thankful to our instructors, industry partners, and school communities for their continued support. Together, we are creating spaces where young people can take bold first steps, regardless of where they began.
As always, thank you to our sponsors for their dedication to helping our youths succeed!
