Long distance runners remember their “first 10k (10-kilometer distance run)”. At first, 10k seemed a distant, and maybe even impossible target. Yet when they crossed the finish line, the excitement and sense of accomplishment stay with them for life. And then, almost instinctively, they’d think: “I wonder how far I can set my next target!"
Today, SEED Foundation invited 43 pairs of primary and secondary school principals / vice principals and their students to take on this incredible feat at the Hong Kong Streetathon 2024. This was not merely a physical challenge, but also an extraordinary lesson in perseverance, self-discipline, and the spirit of “never giving up”, for both the adults and the students. Through every step, they demonstrated resilience and determination, embodying the very values we strive to cultivate in education.
At SEED Foundation, we are honored to have facilitated this unique connection with our friends in the education sector. While we first met them in the context of digital skills training, it has been truly inspiring to see the same can-do spirit the students displayed in the classroom carried into this long-distance run, and truly touching to see the principals leading by example to show the qualities that we all want in our next generation.
Congratulations to everyone who crossed the finish line today—you’ve shown that, with hard work and determination, incredible things can be achieved. We look forward to continuing to support and celebrate the amazing accomplishments of our education community. 🏃♂️🏃♀️💪
