With our students now on their well-deserved summer break, weโ€™re turning our focus to their greatest champions โ€” their teachers.

To better equip educators for tomorrowโ€™s digital-first world, we hosted a special Educatorโ€™s Forum in collaboration with HK01, one of Hong Kongโ€™s most influential digital platforms.

We explored why digital transformation is no longer optional for companies โ€” itโ€™s urgent and inevitable across all industries. The session broke down its building blocks in a way that cuts through tech jargons and makes these concepts accessible for educators.

We then connected this to the latest World Economic Forum โ€“ Future of Jobs Report, which highlights that all the โ€œCoreโ€ and โ€œEmergingโ€ hard skills by 2030 are technology-related โ€” including: Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, User Experience Design, Tech Tool Operations, Data Analysis, and using AI tools for such

We discussed how to uplift students into these in-demand skill sets. It should not be the goal โ€” nor is it realistic or necessary โ€” to turn every student into a technical specialist.

In fact, many of the โ€œtechnology skillsโ€ identified arenโ€™t technical in the way people often assume. Theyโ€™re not all about coding or advanced ICT โ€” many involve using technology thoughtfully: interpreting data, understanding user behaviours, or applying tools to solve real-world problems.

The more effective โ€” and empowering โ€” approach is to start with studentsโ€™ existing interests and strengths.ย From there, we can provide the right guidance, resources, and opportunities to help them build future-ready skills that align with who they are and where they want to go in the digital economy.

As educators, we need to stay curious โ€” and stay relevant. Tech is moving fast, and we canโ€™t just talk about it from the sidelines. We need to be in it, with our sleeves rolled up.

Weโ€™re grateful for the rich conversations sparked among educators during this workshop โ€” a space to reflect, challenge assumptions, and rethink how we prepare students for the realities of tomorrowโ€™s tech-driven workplaces.

Big thanks to HK01's Chief Managing Editor, John Siu, for giving educators a behind-the-scenes look at how real-time data powers their newsroom โ€” and how itโ€™s used to create a personalized reader experience. This data-driven approach boosts engagement and strengthens HK01โ€™s relevance in todayโ€™s media landscape. He also shared great insights on crafting impactful stories in an age of content overload โ€” reminding us how storytelling, strategy, and tech go hand in hand.

And this is just the beginning, Weโ€™re committed to creating more opportunities like this โ€” so more educators can lead their students confidently into the digital future.
