SEED Student Story: Ken Mochizuki’s Journey
A-EYE Wins Asia Pacific ICT Gold Award
SEED has always believed that technology education is about more than mastering skills—it’s about inspiring young people to respond to social challenges with innovative thinking. Through curriculum blending theory and practice, we are committed to nurturing a new generation of tech creators with future vision and social responsibility. Ken Mochizuki’s story perfectly embodies this mission. Starting from a curiosity about gaming, Ken gradually built a strong technical foundation through SEED’s courses, the guidance of his school teachers, and active self-directed learning. He transformed his growing knowledge into an innovation with real social value. A-EYE is not only a technical achievement, but also a testament to how young people can use technology to address real-life needs.

Before joining SEED's Cloud Computing program, I honestly didn't know much about IT at all. But after joining the program, my perspective changed completely, and I gradually developed a strong interest in the field of information technology. SEED's UX/UI course was a really fun experience for me, especially during Level 3, where we worked together as a team to design a website about stray animals using Figma. I enjoyed every part of the process. After completing the course, my biggest takeaway was how much I grew in terms of teamwork and communication. I found myself able to talk to people much more easily, and I became a lot more confident in speaking up.

WXP gave me the opportunity to experience things I wouldn't normally get to encounter. During my WXP placement, I was able to apply what I had learned from SEED's UX/UI course to help the company with website layout work. Through this experience, I realised that UX/UI is so much more than just design. At its core, it teaches you to think from the user's perspective, and that kind of thinking turns out to be useful in almost every aspect of the workplace, such as how to present and communicate information clearly so that both supervisors and colleagues can easily understand. After completing the one-month placement, hearing my supervisor's recognition and approval was truly the highlight of the entire experience, and it made me incredibly happy.
